So now we have added Risperdal and it seems to be working great. He does seem to be more even tempered not so many mood swing. We haven't taken him off the other meds though. We still haven't tried abillify. We will see how things progress through Christmas it always seems to be a tough time.
Tonight we are going trick-or-treating and he is very excited because he is going with his girlfriend that he has had for a year now. They moved across the street. You can seem them at http://www.myseams.org photo dedication page his name is Noah and his girlfriend is Taylor let me know that you think!!

Ok it is now February 26 2008 we have changed meds once again.
Back in December we decided to try Concerta so here is how our meds go

In the morning
1/2 tablet of 1 mg Risperdal
1 tablet concerta 18 mg

at night
1/2 tablet of 1 mg Risperdal
1/2 tablet of 0.1 mg clonidine

We have stopped the zoloft

This is the difference that we have seen
He is able to do birthday party's without the screaming, spitting, smashing the cake and hitting who ever is there. We have made it through 5 birthday party's so far and he even starts the happy birthday song.
He is able to stay more focused at school and at home. He is not all over the place with his thoughts and actions.

Abilify has changed our life.  My 5 year old son who has Fragile X started taking abilify a month ago and we have seen remarkable improvements in his behavior.  His anxiety level has decreased and he is generally much happier.  We also noticed a much more stable mood and a decrease in obsessive thinking and behavior.
It has been a miracle drug for our family.
He take abilify at night and zoloft in the morning.  Hope this helps.
